Zimbabwe
We have long been established in Zimbabwe as a major exporter of quality used vehicles from Japan. You may even have seen our adverts in The Herald newspaper! The popularity of vehicles changes very quickly in Zimbabwe, but rest assured, we are ready to act quickly according to the latest trends.
Importing into Zimbabwe is very easy and there are no major restrictions. Please see below for more info:
Recommended ports
We do recommend that customers go through Durban port as there are many reliable agents there who can take care of all your needs. Your agent will be able to forward your vehicle up to Beitbridge as is no longer possible to collect it yourself from Durban.
Some customers go through Maputo in Mozambique, however this is certainly the more difficult option as you can face language and burocratic difficulties.
We have shipping to Durban at least twice a month and we have shipping to Maputo less frequently. It will take 3 to 4 weeks from Nagoya to either port.
Clearance and delivery from the destination port
Click here for a list of customs clearance agents in Durban. It is not permitted to drive imported vehicles on South African roads so you will need to arrange delivery through your agent in Durban. You can collect your vehicle from Beitbridge border crossing.
Inspections and local regulations
There are no specific regulations regarding Japanese vehicles, however be sure to check with your local authorities regarding import duties.
Why buy direct from Japan?
Many Zimbabweans choose to buy directly from Japan because quite simply you will be getting a better quality vehicle, with a lower mileage at a cheaper price. Vehicles made in Japan often have the highest grade options fitted as standard. We estimate that when you add everything up you will be saving at least $1000 compared with a similar quality vehicle bought locally.
